The World Tourism Organization (WTO) announces Tunisia as a “safe tourist destination” precisely in the pandemic period of the Covid-19. In a social message, the WTO highlighted that the North African state has applied a health protocol to ensure the protection of tourists and sector personnel. Drawn up by the Tunisian National Tourist Office (ONTT), the anti-Coronavirus health document regulates a series of measures aimed at compliance with hygiene and health safety standards, to avoid any possibility of the spread of Covid-19 in the tourism sector. Despite the restrictions on travel and movement required by some countries, Tunisia, which to date has come to block the spread of the virus, with less than 60 cases in the nation, aspires to relaunch tourism for the summer of 2020. Before the health emergency, Tunisia aimed to receive 10 million people in 2020, after hosting more than 9 million in 2019.<\/p>\n
The Tunisian Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts has created the ‘Ready and Safe’ label, which is necessary for all parties involved in tourism in Tunisia.<\/p>\n
To obtain it, it is essential to follow the implementation of an internal protocol based on the provisions of the WHO. These recommendations will be followed and applied by all stakeholders in Tunisian tourism in order to ensure hygiene and preventive cleaning and thus maintain control over the COVID-19 and ensure the health and safety of tourists.<\/p>\n
